1. Retail Advisor
Mothercare is a specialist retailer of products for mothers-to-be,
babies and young children, from maternity and children's clothing,
to home furnishings, care products, travel equipment and toys. As a
Retail Advisor we will recognize you as a vital part of the team,
and the first point of contact with our customers. More than just
a sales assistant, you will greet and assist all visitors to the
store, ensure you build rapport with them by asking relevant questions
to understand their needs, and then provide practical advice on our
products and services, anticipating cross-selling opportunities where
appropriate. You will be fully trained in order to demonstrate how to
use our products, and equipped with all the key features and benefits
in order to provide a truly value-add customer experience.
So what experience are we looking for?
Previous Retail experience is not always necessary, as we provide
excellent training. What we are really looking for is a customer
service ethic that makes you stand out from the crowd. We want all
our customers to feel that they have had an outstanding experience
when visiting our stores and it is you who will give them that
impression.
You should demonstrate good communication and listening skills, an
ability to build rapport and a natural commercial focus in order to
close sales. Confidence, flexibility, a high level of personal
presentation and enthusiasm are also the only other ingredients
you need, so if you feel you have all of the above you are definitely
the type of person we want to talk to.
2. Assistant Buyer
Mothercare is a specialist retailer of products for mothers-to-be,
babies and young children, from maternity and children's clothing,
to home furnishings, care products, travel equipment and toys.
We aim to offer our customers a compelling mix of products of good
design, high quality and value for money.
As a Buying Assistant you will:
- To liaise with local supplier for replenishment, new products and promotion activities and to manage day to day ordering and stock flow within the business
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of the local market and to be aware of local competitor’s product ranges and pricing polices.
- To liaise with store managers and agree the space strategy for all products launch
- To determine max stocks for stores and price changes when the product is not moving fast enough after a period of product launch
- To communicate with UK franchisor for orders, faulty goods feedback and any matters related to merchandising functions
- To ensure the seasonal products phased into stores as planned on the trading calendar
- To work on the line detail, inserting images on the spreadsheet after the seasonal order is done
- To order spare parts or special order from UK or local suppliers as and when the store raise the request
- To control markdowns and maximize sale and minimize terminal stocks
- To attend franchise meetings in the UK and place orders for seasonal product and to view new hardware.
- To potentials profit through careful product selection, stock flow and margin management
- To review last season’s trading and strategy and performance to ensure key lessons learnt
- To prepare all reports and sale analyze before every buying trips
- To check invoices and organize all necessary paper works.
- To build good working relationships with management within the business as well as with Mothercare UK to solve business issues
Skills required:
As a Buying Assistant you'll need to be adaptable, willing, happy to
carry out routine administrative work, pay close attention to detail
at all times and work co-operatively as part of a team. Time management,
a flexible approach to working, computer literate and excellent
organisational skills are required for this role as well as a passion
for our products and customers.
